Mangaluru: All attempts will be made to save Vijaya Bank’s name in the merger process, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. The district’s pride Vijaya Bank is an invaluable gift to the development of the country’s economy. Me, MP Shobha Karandlaje and Gopal Shetty have submitted a request to union minister Arun Jaitely requesting him to retain the name of Vijaya Bank which is in the process of merger. He has responded well to it, said the MP

Congress decision

The merger of Vijaya Bank was the plan of the earlier Congress led UPA government. Congress party and Veerappa Moily is responsible for merger of Vijaya Bank. Veerappa Moily was the chairman of finance committee of cabinet which collectively passed the resolution for merger of the bank. Moily had power to suspend the decision. But he did not and instead approved the process. Congress is hiding this fact and instead is making noise and alleging that BJP had a role in merger. The people of the district know the facts and they won’t listen to Congress party’s fabricated story, alleged MP Nalin.

Congress Padayatra

Speaking on the B C Road-Addahole road works and taking a dig at Congress Padayatra from Nelyadi to B C road, the MP said, “It is the march of defeated party and its leaders. The march is good for their health because it will reduce the fat of their body. As a MP I put my sincere efforts for the four lane road between Bengaluru and Mangaluru. But state government has not done anything for this project. The Padayatra is a political drama and is being done for the reason of the Lok Sabha elections. Why is their own government not taking action to solve the technical problem which has risen on the state level?” he asked.

We have no role in the privatization of airport

The decision to privatize 14 airports in the country is also by the UPA government. This was planned by the then Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel. Now the Congress is accusing us of this, alleged the MP.

Good news will come

Hinting on the ‘upcoming fall’ of state government the MP said, “We already crossed the ‘Sankranthi’. It is time for good news and it will be come in shortly. BJP MLA’s are being trained for the Lok Sabha elections at a hotel in Haryana,” he informed.
