Two others who were working along with the deceased also suffered the electric shock and have been admitted at a hospital. The electricity pole in question was broken after the rain and wind brought down a tree. Hence, a contractor and 12 workers were working on the repair works.
Although the broken electricity pole was without power supply, the high tension wire hanging overhead however was live. It is being said that in the process of pulling the broken pole, the overhanging live wire came in contact with the pole thereby leading to the mishap.
Anger against Mescom
If in case the power supply to the lines near the repair site had been cut, the tragedy would not have occurred. Thus, the locals have alleged that Mescom is solely responsible for the incident due to its negligence.
