Mangaluru/Udupi: Despite the call for a strike by Ambulance drivers in Karnataka,  108 ambulance services continued without disruption on Monday in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

EMT Joint Secretary Sandeep and District President Santhosh warned of a possible strike if the three months’ salary arrears were not addressed promptly. They emphasized the importance of resolving the issue to avoid disruptions in patient care.

Meanwhile, in a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna urged immediate payment of the outstanding salaries for 108 service employees.

In Dakshina Kannada district, ambulance employees expressed solidarity with the statewide strike but postponed their action pending a meeting with government officials in Bengaluru on Tuesday. They assured that patient care would not be compromised during this period.

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has said that the government had allocated sufficient funds for the ambulance services. He emphasized that there were no financial issues and pledged to resolve the salary payment concerns through dialogue with stakeholders.

The Health Commissioner Randeep D is scheduled to meet with organization members to address the salary payment issues and ensure the continuous operation of ambulance services across the state.
