Maharashtra Releases 2.5 TMC Water from its Reservoir to Karnataka

Vijayapura: Maharashtra government has released 2.5 TMC water from its reservoir to Karnataka for drinking and other purposes amid severe drought condition in region. The water was released by Maharashtra following a request by Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah to solve drinking water issue in the region. The people residing in the regions, Rayabag, Chikkodi, Jamkhandi and other areas located near the banks of river Krishna are expected to get relief from the water released.
