Riding bike without helmet: Woman forest guard penalized

Police take action based on a photo of the incident going viral on Whatsapp

Mangaluru: The city traffic police have penalized a woman forest guard for riding a bike without wearing a helmet.

The forest guard posted in Uppinangady was riding pillion on the motorbike of her husband along Balmatta road without wearing a helmet. A few bystanders who noticed this offence, captured a photo and spread it on the social media with the caption woman in Kakhi uniform not wearing helmet and violating traffic rules.

Originally from Ballari

With the photo going viral on social media, the city traffic police took exception of the offence and launched an investigation to find out who the owner of the bike was based on its number plate. Eventually it was found out that the bike was from Ballari. Later, the woman was called to the police station and penalized.
