Road accident kills senior Muslim cleric

Bantwal: A senior Muslim cleric lost his life at the hospital after meeting with a road accident near B C Road on Thursday August 1. The deceased is identified as Muslim scholar Ustaad Yousuf Haji, a resident of Addoor.
Ustaad Yousuf Haji was attempting to cross the road on Thursday evening when a car approaching from Kaikamba hit him. The force of the impact was such that the victim was hurled a few meters along the road.
Mr Yousuf was rushed to a hospital in Thumbay for preliminary treatment and was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday night, inform family sources.
