Summer Rain with Thunderstorms Kill 2 in Hassan

Hassan:  Two farmers, Murali (39), Vijaya Kumar (45) were died in Hassan district when the duo engaged in the farm work on Tuesday evening following summer rainfall with thunderstorms at Basavanahalli in Arakalagudu taluk of Hassan district. Various parts of Hassan district, including Hassan town recorded 30 minute long rainfall in the afternoon at around 02.00 PM. In the evening, summer shower was continued for another half-hour disconnecting supply of electricity in Hassan town for more than 2 hours. 

Roofs of houses and other buildings have been damaged following rain fall along with thunder storm in the district. Three cattle were also reportedly died after violent rainfall with thunder storm at Hassan taluk last night. Sullia, Subramanya, Uppinangady and other parts of Dakshina Kannada witnessed slight rainfall activities along with thunder storm on Tuesday. 

Meanwhile, Madhugiri in Tumkur district recorded 2 cm rainfall followed by 1 cm showers in Chikkamagaluru, YS Hoskote and Hosadurga on Monday.
