Traffic diversions in Mangaluru on May 25-26 due to VIP visit

Mangaluru: In light of the arrival of several prominent dignitaries, including the Governor and the Chief Minister, to attend a private event on May 25 and 26, traffic arrangements in the city have been altered due to the anticipated increase in vehicular congestion.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Governor, and other dignitaries will participate in an event at T.M.A. Pai Hall on M.G. Road. Due to the expected increase in traffic congestion, changes have been made to the vehicular movement in the city area.

Locations likely to experience heavy traffic congestion: Kottara Chowki, Kuntikana, K.P.T., Nanthoor, KSRTC, Bunts Hostel, Dr. Ambedkar Circle, Horticulture Junction, Balmatta, Hampankatta, Karavali Circle, Kankanady, Pumpwell, Thokkottu.

Alternative traffic arrangements are as follows:

  1. All vehicles traveling from Hampankatta to Ladyhill via Bunts Hostel should proceed through Karangalapady or Bharat Beedi Junction.
  2. Vehicles using feeder roads to reach M.G. Road from P.V.S. Junction to Ladyhill Circle should use Bejai Church Road/Kudroli Road.

Designated routes for buses:

  1. All city buses, express buses, and KSRTC buses traveling via K.S. Rao Road, M.G. Road, and Bunts Hostel should use the route through Hampankatta, Dr. Ambedkar Circle, Balmatta, Horticulture Junction, Kadri Junction, and Nanthoor.
  2. All city buses, express buses, and KSRTC buses coming towards State Bank via Kottara Chowki should travel through Nanthoor.
  3. All buses entering and exiting the KSRTC bus stand should use the national highway through Kuntikana Junction.

Prohibited vehicle parking areas:

Parking is prohibited on both sides of M.G. Road from P.V.S. Junction to Lalbagh Junction, from P.V.S. Junction to Bunts Hostel Junction, and from Lalbagh Junction to K.P.T. Junction.
