Speculations arise after Sudeep-HDK breakfast meeting

Bengaluru: Sandalwood star Sudeep (popularly known as Kichcha Sudeep) had a breakfast meeting with JD(S) State president H.D. Kumaraswamy, Anitha Kumaraswamy, Sa. Ra. Mahesh, and actor Nikhil Kumar on Monday. This meeting has given birth to rumors claiming the possible entry of the actor into politics.
This is a surprising development since Sudeep’s uncle Sarovar Srinivas was a one-time ardent supporter of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda. But he recently joined the Congress, along with his friend M.C. Nanaiah and B. Ramakrishna, allegedly frustrated over the treatment meted out to them.
A party release said that Mr. Sudeep met Mr. Kumaraswamy and had a discussion for two hours pertaining cinema and politics.
Sudeep had invited Mr. Kumaraswamy to his house for lunch a few days ago and discussed the same issues. Interestingly, Congress, BJP and JD(S) have attempted to pull Sudeep to their side with intention to field him from Molakalmuru constituency in Chitradurga district. However, Sudeep has decided to maintain his distance from politics and reserved his right to support any candidate of his choice irrespective of party affiliations.
