Bengaluru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday ruled out any chance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi returning to power for a second term.
Swearing on Modi’s father (Avara appana aane) Siddaramaiah said, “Modi will not become the prime minister again.” Addressing a Youth Congress convention here the senior Congress leader added, “Whatever somersaults they try, the BJP will not return to power.”
Drawing a parallel between the BJP and Adolf Hitler, Siddaramaiah said that BJP is fascist and does not believe in democracy. “Our Constitution and democracy are in danger ever since Modi became the Prime Minister, he asked the Youth Congress workers to ensure that the Constitution was protected.
It may be recalled that the former chief minister had during May 2018 Assembly elections sworn on JDS Supremo HD Deve Gowda that his son, H D Kumaraswamy, will not become the chief minister.
