Ex-Kerala BJP Chief Rajasekharan resigns as Mizoram Governor, likely to contest against Shashi Thaoor

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind has accepted the resignation of Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said on Friday.  

The former chief of the BJP’s Kerala unit, Rajasekharan is likely to fight against Congress parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi will discharge the functions of the governor of Mizoram, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements are made, informed Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson.
