Bengaluru: The BJP, again making a surprise choice, has announced K Narayan, a native of Mangaluru, as its nominee for the Rajya Sabha elections.
K Narayan, who has been an active worker in the RSS for the past few decades, is the owner of the publishing house Swan Printers in Bengaluru.
He is the publisher of the Sanskrit magazine ‘Sambhashana Sandesh’ and is the editor of ‘Tuluvere Kedige,’ a Tulu magazine.
The State BJP had recommended three names for the Rajya Sabha elections to the national BJP leadership: Ashok Gusti’s wife Suma Gasti, former MLC Shankarappa and former MLA Nirmal Kumar Suran. However, the national leadership rejected the State unit’s recommendation and once again put out a new face.
The election for the Rajya Sabha seat, that fell vacant by Ashok Gasti’s untimely demise, will be held on December 1.
